These ticketed tours are designed for professionals in the lawn care, design/build/installation, and landscape management fields. The Lawn Care Facility Tour will include the TruGreen ChemLawn branch in Groveport, Ohio, and the Ohio State University Stadium. The TruGreen ChemLawn facility features a modern chemical containment and storage area, truck-filling system, and wash-water recycling area. The facility is self-sustaining, where all sales, customer service, and customer accounting functions are completed. Participants will also see firsthand athletic maintenance in action when they visit the newly renovated Ohio State University Stadium. Now in its 84th year as the home of Ohio State football, the stadium is unique in design with its double-decked horseshoe look. This grand old structure, standing tall along the banks of the Olentangy River, is listed on the National Registry of Historical Buildings. Participants in the Design/Build/Installation Facility Tour will get a behind-the-scenes look at BRICKMAN’s northern Ohio regional facility, situated on 20 acres within two miles of its primary target market. The tour will include a summary of the improvements and modifications that have been made to develop the site over the last five years. A visit to the Peabody Landscape Group facility — The Homestead at Stoney Creek — is also planned. The 20-acre complex is a site that was originally a turn-of-the-century working farm in central Ohio. Elements of the farm have been left intact and restored, such as the dairy barn, which houses landscape equipment, tools, and many supplies. A small mechanic shop and modular building complete the farm setting. Environmental Management, Inc.’s (EMI), primary location in Plain City, Ohio, will be one of the stops on the Landscape Management Facility Tour. This 19-acre site houses all landscape, maintenance, and irrigation staff. The administrative building is a new 3,300-square-foot facility, setting a new standard for production buildings. The tour will provide insight into EMI’s daily operations and its evolvement over the past seven years. The company also will review its maintenance, landscape, spraying, and snow operations. Another stop on the tour will include BRICKMAN’s northern Ohio regional facility, which includes a nursery holding area, greenhouses, and an extensive equipment maintenance shop. Presentations will be made on how landscape maintenance, construction, irrigation, and snow removal operations are staged from this location.
