Exams may be taken in a computer based format at PSI Testing Centers (click here to learn more).

This exam is a multiple-choice format with 240 questions. The test is divided into two sections and a score of at least 70% is required in both sections. 

The subjects tested and number of questions in the topic are:

24 - Watering/Sub-irrigation
24 - Pruning
24 - Fertilization/Nutrition
24 - Insects
24 - Disease

Candidates may take the tests at a date on the PLANET written test schedule or register for a exam at a local LaserGrade Test Center and take the test in a computer-based format. (Extra fee required).

How to Register

Download the application, complete the form and fax it to Professional Landcare Network  with credit card payment information (indicate Mastercard, Visa, Discovery or American Express) or mail to PLANET with a check made payable to Professional Landcare Network for the full amount of the application fee.

The application deadline is 30 days prior to the exam date. If less than 30 days remain before the test date, contact Zane Castle at (800) 395-2522 to confirm space is available.

Admission to the Test Site

Before the test date, you will receive a letter from Professional Landcare Network confirming your acceptance to sit for the exam. You must present the confirmation letter with a photo ID to be admitted to the test area.

Professional Landcare Network complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by offering candidates with documented disabilities the opportunity to request necessary aids and services that do not fundamentally alter the assessment process. Please contact the Professional Landcare Network headquarters office to secure an application form for this assistance. Applications for accommodations must be submitted at least 45 days prior to your scheduled examination date.

Notification of Results

Results will be mailed to all candidates within 3-4 weeks of the test date.

To ensure confidentiality, test results will not be given over the telephone.
