Exams may be taken in a computer based format at LaserGrade Testing Centers (click here for more details) Earn the Certified Turfgrass Professional of Cool Season Lawns (CTP-CSL) designation by studying Management of Cool Season Lawns and passing the exams. The course was developed by Dr. Peter Landschoot, professor of Turfgrass Science at Penn State University. The Management of Cool Season Lawns gives the beginning lawn care or landscape contractor a foundation for understanding lawn and grounds management in the northern United States. The self-study course has 10 sections on topics related to managing cool season turfgrasses. 1. Cool season turfgrasses 2. Establishment and renovation 3. Fertilization and liming 4. Mowing, thatch management, aeration and irrigation 5. Pest management 6. Weed management 7. Diseases 8. Identification and management of insect pests 9. Pesticides and pesticide safety 10. Candidates may take the tests at a date on the PLANET written test schedule or register for a exam at a local LaserGrade Test Center and take the test in a computer-based format.
