Lively keynote address planned for 2010 Legislative Day

Bob Beckel and Cal Thomas have been friends for a number of years. In May 2005, they began writing a column for USA Today called "Common Ground." Its purpose is to demonstrate that even people with strikingly different political views can reach agreement on contentious issues if they place the interest of the country ahead of political gain or personal advantage.

When Beckel and Thomas disagree, they do so with humor and civility and avoid questioning the others' motives or patriotism. They believe this could be a model for a new generation of politics and that's why they wrote a book together which was published by William Morrow in the fall of 2007. This dueling duo will take to the stage for PLANET’s Legislative Day on the Hill keynote address on July 19, 2010.

Legislative Day on the Hill teams up with Renewal & Remembrance at Arlington National Cemetery, July 18–20, in the Washington, D.C. area. These events will provide members with an opportunity to visit with legislators, bringing their collective voices to the Hill in an effort to influence the legislative process, as well as to help beautify the grounds at Arlington National Cemetery, some of the most cherished and hallowed grounds in the United States.

More details about the events will be posted in the Event section of the Web site in the near future. Stay tuned.
